The selected design for the Georgia State
Quarter incorporates several symbols associated with this traditional,
yet very diverse southern state. A peach, a symbol long associated
with the state of Georgia, is prominently displayed. An outline of
the state of Georgia is a background. Live Oak branches border the
central design representing the official state tree and the Georgia
state motto, "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation," is printed on a banner
draped over the scene.
