The Delaware State QuarterThe patriot on the back of this galloping steed is named Caeser Rodney. This Dover, Delaware native held more public offices than any other Delaware citizen. In addition to an extremely dedicated delegate, Rodney was also a soldier, judge, and speaker of Delaware's Assembly. Rodney, though suffering from asthma and cancer, made an 80 mile ride to Philadelphia and the Continental Congress in 1776, through thunder storms and a severe summer heat wave, to cast the deciding vote for the independence of what was to become the United States of America. Find out more about Caeser Rodney in A Gentleman as Well as a Whig. A very interesting story served along with letters written by Rodney and his contemporaries that will allow you to experience the events of the time firsthand.
