Where
Coyotes Howl |
|
by Thelma Martin Anderson |
|
Where Coyotes Howl is a
remarkably detailed and authentic record of nearly fifty years of
life in and around Midland, South Dakota. Beginning in Norway the
story focuses of Anderson's grandmother who followed her sons to
Midland and homesteaded on the Bad River in 1907. The book is
rich in accounts of ranching, cowboying, racing, and trading horses,
the risk to life and property by adverse weather conditions and the
black blizzards and collapsed economy of the Dirty Thirties. |
